Course overview

Acute pain is something everyone has experienced to varying degrees and typically related to procedures or with traumas. Nurses advocate and manage acute pain and collaborate with the healthcare team to effectively treat pain with administration of analgesics and nonpharmacological modalities. This course presents the physiological response to pain and management of acute pain so that the nurse can effectively intervene for the patient experiencing acute pain.
