Tracking # 20-539385
Course overview
This course explains the newly emerging science behind habit formation as an automatic part of brain functioning. It examines the anatomy of a habit, and teaches the necessary steps to change poor habits, or to form new habits that can have better consequences. It applies information to habits of language, motor habits, mental and emotional habits, and health habits such as dietary, exercise, etc. It explains why some diseases and disabilities have significant habit connections (e.g. some strokes, Parkinson's Disease), making change more difficult. It provides interventions that improve outcomes.
