The purpose of this article is to educate nurses about the use of computed tomography angiography (CTA) in the evaluation of chest pain. After reading this article, the nurse will be able to: 1. State the two types of cardiac computed axial tomography scans. 2. Describe the patient risk factors and other medical indications for conducting a CTA scan. 3. Explain the nursing care for a patient receiving advanced cardiac testing.
