This module provides the nurse with how to identify the source of a patient’s pain and factors that influence their experience of pain. It outlines the role that non-pharmacological and complementary therapies can play in helping to manage pain. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to: Discuss how to perform a comprehensive pain assessment Identify types of pain syndromes Identify factors affecting pain perception List non-pharmacological pain interventions List complimentary pain control measures
