Course overview
The goal of this module is to provide an overview of caregiver support and to explore how to provide end-of-life education to caregivers and advocate for advance care planning, optimal functioning and life closure. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to: Evaluate the caregiver’s ability to provide care and identify early signs of caregiver fatigue. Discuss the principles of adult learning and identify learning styles and barriers to learning. Discuss benefit versus burden of treatment options and medication management for symptom relief. Review goals and key interventions for advance care planning and identify ways to facilitate self-determined life closure. Identify signs of abuse and neglect.
