This module covers the standards hospices must meet and governmental agencies they must comply with. It discusses how to educate providers and the public on end of life issues, palliative care and the Medicare and Medicaid Hospice Benefits. It outlines strategies to resolve ethical dilemmas and ways for the nurse to remain current, keeping up with medical and nursing literature. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to: Identify ways to manage conflict within the interdisciplinary team Describe how the hospice meets legal regulations and practice standards Describe the differences between hospice care and palliative care delivery Identify ways the nurse can practice self care and maintain professional boundaries Identify strategies for resolving ethical concerns
