PALS: Vascular Access, Shock and Post Resuscitation Care

Course overview
The goal of this module is to provide nurses preparing for PALS certification with an overview of vascular access, types of shock commonly seen and principles of resuscitative care for the pediatric patient. At the conclusion of this module, the learner will be able to: Explain the importance of assessment after each fluid bolus is given Identify four indicators of pediatric response to blood loss Calculate the volume of maintenance fluids post resuscitation State the indications for vasopressors in septic shock Describe the process of obtaining intraosseous access
