Course overview
The goal of this module is to understand the structure of the hip and knee, the function of the hip and knee joints and how to preserve and restore function to the patient with hip and knee conditions. On completion of this module, the learner will be able to: Identify differences between meniscal cartilage and articular cartilage and how each is associated with osteoarthritis of the knee Define femoroacetabular impingement and discuss the associated treatment options Identify different surgical options for the patient with advanced hip arthritis Define the mechanical aspects of the hip joint with those of the knee joint Describe the differences between chondromalacia and patellofemoral arthritis
