Course overview

The goal of this program is to enhance nurses' understanding of the management of patients who have opted for one of the continent types of urinary diversion currently available. After studying this information, you will be able to; describe two continent alternatives to the ideal conduit increasingly offered to select patients requiring urinary diversion, list indications and contraindications for the catheterizable continent urinary reservoir and the orthotopic neobladder, and understand the techniques used by patients to achieve continence with the catheterizable continent urinary reservoir and the orthotopic neobladder.
