Basic Intravenous Therapy Certification

Course overview

This 30 hours Intravenous Therapy Certification course discuss the Nursing Practice Act and the regulation of nursing practices. It discuss the limited scope of therapy in the administration intravenous therapy as specified in Rule 64B9-12 of the Nurse Practice Act. This course state the responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse in the administration of intravenous therapy and state the requirements for the postgraduate course in intravenous therapy. It describe the process for obtaining clarification or interpretation of Rule 464.003(3) (b) of the Florida Statute from the Board of Nursing, and discuss the information that should be included in documenting the administration of intravenous therapy. This course also review patient Education in the Administration of IV Therapy, Fluid and Electrolytes Transfusion Therapy, total Parenteral Nutrition, Chemotherapy, Venipuncture Standards and Practices.
