Course overview
Noninvasive cardiac output monitoring (NICOM) involves the use of a noninvasive monitoring device to obtain measurements indicative of cardiovascular function. NICOM is a form of hemodynamic monitoring that is utilized to obtain information about the adequacy of cardiac output (CO), which determines tissue oxygenation. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of performing NICOM, including procedures and goals. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
