Course overview

Nursing leadership and practice are the foundation for promoting positive patient outcomes. Resources and organizational support must be available for nursing leaders to effectively function in the leadership role and to promote improved and positive patient outcomes. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of nursing leadership and patient outcomes, including needs of the nurse leader to promote improved and positive patient outcomes, effective nursing leadership strategies for improving and communicating patient outcomes, and the impact of nursing leadership style on patient outcomes. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
