FLEXIBLE BUDGETING

Course overview

Nursing leaders and managers are expected to have expertise in strategic management and strategic planning and to provide input during the process of fiscal planning which involves developing a financial budget, or plan, for the coming year that requires flexibility, serial evaluation, and revision when appropriate. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of flexible budgeting, including the expectations and roles of nurse managers and leaders in fiscal planning, an explanation of flexible budgeting, and the impact of variances in flexible budgeting. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
