Threat Assessment: Behaviors and Communications of Concern

Course overview

This one hour continuing education course reviews threat assessment of potential violent incidents and methods of preventing them in health care settings. The course provides information on violent attacks, pathways to attacks or violent incidents and lists behaviors and communications of concerns (i.e. threats) that nurses should be aware of in their facility. The course also provides the goals of intervention, threat assessment, and risk management. It ends with a review of prevention of violent attacks in health care settings.
