49716 Mindfulness for Stress Management and Burnout Prevention: Integrative Medicine
Tracking # 20-550555
Course overview
Burnout is a problem in this modern, digital age, especially in the health professions, where everyone works long hours and constantly on some aspect of delivering medical care. If ignored, burnout can end careers, make life generally miserable, and lend itself to a sense of being overwhelmed by the demands of daily living, sometimes leading to a sense of hopelessness, depression, or anxiety, all due to an inability to find meaning or satisfaction in work or at home, which can trigger episodes of substance abuse, and even suicide. The program provides a method to achieve work-life balance through the use of mindfulness meditation, which can be performed anywhere, at any time, and is intended to be incorporated into one’s existing lifestyle as an underpinning.
