Urinary Tract Infections: The Unappreciated Giant

Course overview

This course will review the epidemiology of urinary tract infections (UTIs), normal anatomy and physiology of the urinary system, types and causes of UTIs, risk factors for developing UTIs, symptoms and diagnoses, ruling out other similar conditions which mimic UTIs, current treatment recommendations and prevention of UTIs. UTIs have become a common condition diagnosed and treated by Primary Care Providers (PCPs), Urologists and other health care professionals. This course will focus on UTIs in adults, not infants or children.
