NURSING PRACTICE IN FLORIDA: LAWS AND RULES Purpose/Goals The purpose of this course is to prepare nurses to practice within the parameters of the Florida Nurse Practice Act. Objectives At the conclusion of this course, the learner will be able to: 1 Maintain expected levels of continuing education necessary to hold a nursing license in the state of Florida. 2 Prepare for the nursing registration and licensure process in the state of Florida. 3 Identify documentation standards required of nurses in the state of Florida. 4 Describe professional standards regarding drug misuse or abuse in the state of Florida. 5 Demonstrate awareness of the change in processing for the CE required to re-license for Florida nurses. 6 Discuss the upcoming 2015 requirement of 2-hours CE pertaining to Florida Nursing Law.
