Course overview

Developmental disorders are characterized as mental or physical impairments which begin before the age of 22 and last throughout a persons’ lifetime. These impairments are called developmental disorders because they are most often identified in children who are around 3 years old, a critical time in child development. Developmental disorders are severe chronic conditions due to mental and/or physical impairments. Problems with language, mobility, learning, and self-care are all associated with developmental disorders.
