Course overview

As a result of advanced treatment options and increased access to care, the number of people diagnosed with human immunodeficiency virus infection and acquired immune deficiency syndrome is decreasing. With proper diagnosis and treatment, people can live symptom-free for a significant length of time. Advances in testing and treatment options have improved the care and management of those diagnosed with human immunodeficiency virus. Comprehensive prevention strategies and education important to ensure the spread of the disease is minimized is discussed in this two part series.
