Course overview

CareerSmart Learning provides interactive online continuing education courses to modern professionals seeking control, quality, and convenience. This course provides an advanced overview of advance care planning. By the end of this course, learners will be able to: identify and describe the potential barriers for people in planning for their future in both matters of personal assets and healthcare decision making; identify communication techniques to help facilitate future care planning discussions with patients and their family members; and define the purpose and process for executing advance directives and identify the resources and tools available to assist patients in facilitating this process. Approved for 3.0 CEUs/contact hours for Nurses (all states), Certified Case Managers (CCM), Certified Rehabilitation Specialists (CRC), and Social Workers (NASW).
