Course overview

Measurement of the Patient satisfaction is more than a value added service – it has become a measure of quality and offers an opportunity to reflect on what needs improvement. As this process evolves so does evidence of what truly impacts the patient experience. What consistently shows up is that provider communication has the greatest impact on patient experience. More than 25% of readmissions could have been avoided with better communication. This presentation will address the basics of effective communication including the differences in the four generations now in the workplace. Barriers to effective communication, emotional intelligence and the impact of good communication on patient satisfaction scores are presented
