Course overview
Approximately forty-two (42) percent of residents in long term care facilities receive nine (9) or more medications per day. The consequences of taking multiple drug therapies at one time can have a significant impact on the health and safety of residents. This course will help the learner gain knowledge about the interactions that may occur when a resident is taking multiple medications. In addition, the learner will gain a greater understanding of how to adequately monitor medication usage in order to recognize adverse events.
