Course overview
When a patient with complex chronic and acute medical needs is admitted to the hospital, an interprofessional team of highly trained professionals swings into action. This module highlights the distinctive and overlapping roles and actions of practitioners from nursing, dietary, respiratory therapy, clinical laboratory technology, occupational therapy, and physical therapy as they work together to care for Theo, an older adult who is suffering from adjustment to recent losses, as well as an acute burn injury with thermal airway injuries brought on by smoke inhalation.
