Systems-Based Medical Screening for the Physical Therapist - SOD

Course overview

This course will discuss the biological systems approach to conducting a medical screening examination. Clinical checklists, based on sign and symptoms, and physical examination findings for the various organ and tissue systems will be presented. Throughout the discussion, the use of flags to raise suspicion of competing pathologies will be addressed. In addition, risk factors for various pathologies and the role of a general health screening process will be discussed.
