Course overview
This course will explain the role of the physical therapist as a primary care provider, working within a collaborative medical model. The evolution of the physical therapy profession, within the context of primary care will be presented and examples of physical therapy primary care models will be discussed. The physical therapy examination will be discussed, with an emphasis on the patient interview, collection of family and past medial history, and risk factors and/or use of flags during the screening process.
