Caring for Seniors with Dizziness

Course overview

Dizziness is a common complaint amongst elderly people. It can occur as a symptom of several underlying conditions, each requiring its own treatment approach. Dizziness is difficult for many people to describe, making it harder for practitioners to determine the underlying cause. Occupational therapist professionals must be able to recognize and differentiate between the various types of dizziness, and be able to perform client assessments to determine the cause of client dizziness. This course discusses the various types of age-related dizziness, how healthcare professionals treat each type, and how occupational therapists can use this information to plan and execute an effective client intervention for dizziness.
