Course overview

Human error is a natural occurrence. Healthcare professionals are at high risk for performing a medical error due to the numerous complex tasks required of many job descriptions. Medical errors adversely affect patients, families, healthcare employees, healthcare organization and healthcare legislature. However, with appropriate education and training many medical errors can be prevented. This continuing education activity will explore techniques to avert medical errors and discuss The Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goals as they relate to the processes surrounding medical errors.
