Anaphylaxis, also called anaphylactic shock, is a serious allergic reaction that can onset rapidly and may cause death if not immediately treated. People prone to anaphylaxis are typically prescribed an epinephrine autoinjector, like the EpiPen. This is an injection working immediately and can be the difference between life and death. This course discusses when and how to use an epinephrine autoinjector like the EpiPen to increase the awareness of of a healthcare provider working with patients in their home who have life threatening allergies.
