This course presents information pertaining to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), particularly Titles I & II. Home health care professionals need to understand HIPAA and how it impacts them personally or how they should comply with HIPAA standards in their day-to-day operations when working with patients in their homes. The goal of this course is to increase the learner’s awareness and understanding of individual rights and responsibilities under HIPAA so they can improve the safeguarding of health information.
