Tracking # 20-589033
Course overview
Elder abuse can affect people of all ethnic and social backgrounds, in their home as well as in healthcare settings. Abuse impacts both the victim and his or her caregivers, including nursing professionals caring for elderly patients. It is important for anyone working with or caring for an older adult to know the signs of abuse as well as how to report any concerns identified. This can be particularly important for nursing professionals working with individuals in a variety of healthcare settings. This course defines elder abuse, identifies populations of elderly most at risk for abuse, and mandated reporting status and general requirements.
