Purpose of the Course The purpose of the course is to provide education and awareness to the issue of elopement in nursing home facility. As healthcare providers we strive to keep patients safe and secure and elopement is a problem that is one the rise and prevention in the key to tackling the problem. Course Objectives To have understanding of what elopement is and what risk it poses To identify elopement prevention strategies To have knowledge of assessment findings that would identify a patient at risk for elopement To describe what factors attribute to elopement being a negligence risk for a skilled nursing facility
