The Purpose of this Course The purpose of this course is to look into mandatory child abuse reporting to educate nurses about their duty to report suspected child abuse. Child abuse is a common and hazardous problem that nurses can identify on the frontline and reportthe suspected abuse. This course aims to provide knowledge and tools to equip nurses to protect children that are at risk or in danger of abuse and neglect. Course Objectives To have knowledge of what it means to be a mandatory reporter To identify resources in the state the nurse practices in for reporting suspected abuse To identify signs and symptoms of child abuse To have knowledge of the nursing responsibility to report suspected abuse within their facility of employment and individually
