Target audience: The target audience for this education program is nurses working within the emergency department who interact daily with patients presenting ocular, dental, ear, nose, and throat emergencies. Course overview: This course presents vital information related to select emergencies. Included are ocular and vision emergencies, dental emergencies, and ear, nose, and throat emergencies. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to: • Identify the various ocular, dental, ear, nose, and throat emergencies. • Differentiate between the nonurgent and emergent ocular, dental, ear, nose, and throat presentations. • Compare and contrast the various presentations of ocular, dental, ear, nose, and throat emergencies. • Differentiate the interventions that will need to be taken with the various presentations of ocular, dental, ear, nose, and throat emergencies.
