Course overview
When caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias, you must ensure that you are creating a safe environment for the person to continue living with the highest level of independence possible. In this course, you will learn about principles of care for the person with Alzheimer’s disease and how they relate to the physical environment. You will learn the importance of environmental considerations, the optimal physical setting, safety, and schedules. By the end of this course, you will be able to list ways in which to maintain an appropriate environment for persons with Alzheimer’s disease.
