Course overview
Discussion of recovery starting with a definition and a comparison of the maintenance and recovery models, and ten components of recovery: self-direction, individualized, empowerment, holistic, non-linear, peer support, strengths-based, respect, responsibility, and hope. Examines the phases of recovery and the CHIME recovery process: connectedness, hope and optimism about the future, identity, meaning in life, and empowerment. Identifies the factors impacting mental health recovery, as well as the eight areas and the eight dimensions of wellness. Discusses recovery-oriented resources, a focus on recovery-oriented occupational therapy practice, and a comparison of occupational-based and recovery-based outcome measures.
