The purpose of this program is to educate the learner about hepatic disorders. After studying the information presented here, the learner will be able to: Identify the normal anatomy and physiology of the liver Discuss the daily functions of the liver, including its role in bile formation and secretion, metabolism, vitamin storage, coagulation and detoxification Describe the pathophysiology of the liver Understand the role of the nurse in the care and treatment of patients with disorders and diseases of the liver
