IPAD APPS: HOW TO SEARCH, EVALUATE AND USE IN TREATMENT

Course overview

This 3 hour seminar helps take the guessing out of using iPad apps in treatment. Reviewing apps can be time consuming and confusing. This course will take you through a step-by-step process of critical thinking on how to find and evaluate apps used for treatment. Many apps will be reviewed by therapists who are currently using them effectively in treatment. There will be discussion on the broad and creative application of the apps, their limitations and how this all relates to evidence based practice. This course appropriate for treatment all ages. Objective Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: Describe methods, tools and procedures to objectively evaluate an IPad application for effective use in treatment Describe ways to use applications in a variety of settings for treatment Identify ways to meet personal and emotional goals for patients when using IPad applications Discuss how specific apps relate to evidence based practice.
