This course is designed to provide speech-language pathologists with the necessary background and tools to implement literacy-based activities into the speech and language treatment of pre-school and school-aged children. Objective Following the course, participants will be able to: 1. Identify key areas or pre-literacy to assess in young children 2. Describe the process by which text is read and comprehended 3. Describe manners to assess various aspects of literacy 4.
