Course overview
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease of unknown cause that affects multiple organ systems. Lupus is associated with significant mortality and morbidity. There is currently no cure for lupus and treatments vary widely. This course will discuss the symptoms, causes, risk factors and complications related to lupus as well as its diagnosis, common tests and treatments both traditional and complementary. This course will also address the important aspect of coping and support of those who are dealing with lupus.
