Course overview

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is one of the most common degenerative diseases of the nervous system, affecting approximately 1% of the population over the age of 60. The disease typically pursues a slow but progressive course for 15 to 20 years, culminating in severe invalidism. Because there is no known cure for Parkinson’s disease at this time, the aim of treatment is to keep the patient comfortable and functional for as long as possible. Join us as we explore the eight types of Parkinson’s disease and management of this debilitating illness.
