Dementia is a progressive deterioration of a person's mental capacity. It includes the loss of the ability to process information, including communication, abstract thinking, judgment and physical abilities, to the degree that it interferes with activities of daily living. This online course will outline strategies to help communicate with patients/residents with dementia. The course is appropriate for all healthcare personnel working with persons with dementia in multiple settings.
