Course overview

In Part 1 of the Nursing Leadership Series, you learned about yourself as an individual leader. In this course, you will continue to explore your leadership role as a team builder. This course is a discussion about the formation of teams from a nurse leader’s perspective. Team building is an essential role of a nursing leader to achieving positive patient outcomes and increase effectiveness of nurses. This is true whether the health care setting in which you work is an inpatient unit, outpatient unit, clinic, or academia. Then the series continues, as you as a nurse leader learn about your leadership within the context of teamwork in Part 3, as a delegator in Part 4, and to examine your role within an organization Part 5.
