Type 2 diabetes is a chronic disease marked by high levels of glucose (sugar) in the blood. It is the most common form of diabetes with millions of Americans being diagnosed with the disease. Type 2 diabetes is found in some people more than others. Those people include African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and other Pacific Islanders, as well as the aged population.
