Course overview
Pain remains one of the most feared and burdensome symptoms for patients and their families. Pain represents a universal problem and challenges health care professionals, health care providers, government agencies and educators to take the lead in transforming pain management. An American health care cultural transformation in thinking about pain management will be necessary to more readily prevent, assess, treat and understand pain of all types. An integration of pain management earlier into the plan of care can only contribute to the patient’s higher quality of life.
