Course overview

The goal of this program is to describe the special issues and needs of various populations and topics for self-care strategies of diabetes mellitus. Upon completion participants will be able to: Identify three issues health care providers need to be aware of for a person with diabetes during a hospitalization Describe the diagnosis, pharmacological management and potential complications for gestational diabetes Compare the unique issues for management of diabetes for children with diabetes from birth to young adulthood Explain three recommendations for traveling for persons with diabetes to maintain safe blood glucose levels Discuss risk factors and symptoms for maladaptive coping for persons with diabetes and strategies for mental health
