Empowering Residents through ADLs (REL-SRC-0-ERA)
Tracking # 20-624619
Course overview
As a caregiver, one of your essential roles is to help residents attain or maintain their highest level of physical and psychosocial well-being possible. One way to do this is to empower residents to be as independent as possible with activities of daily living, commonly abbreviated ADLs. Interaction with residents during ADL care provides a unique opportunity for you to incorporate tenants of person-centered care such as building relationships, choice and decision-making, and respect and dignity. In this course, you will learn strategies to help empower residents to participate in self-care activities and ways to use person-centered care during ADL activities.
