Course overview

Discussion of corneal transplant methods including indications, pre-/post-op management, and potential complications; and diagnosis, treatment and complications of various eye diseases. The anterior segment is the front portion of the eye, and it includes the cornea, iris, pupil, ciliary body, and lens. The cornea plays a major role in our ability to see clearly, and disorders that affect the cornea may cause severe vision loss. There are several disorders which may affect structures within the anterior segment of the eye, some of which are commonly seen in practice, and others being more rare, misdiagnosed at times. This program discusses corneal transplant methods, indications, management, and complications, as well as diagnosis and treatment of various eye diseases affecting the anterior segment.
