The learner will be able to describe pain assessment for patients across the lifespan and will be able to identify evidence-based assessment for patients whose cognitive impairment, age, or level of consciousness makes them incapable of reporting their pain. The learner will demonstrate an understanding of the pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatment of acute and chronic pain.
