Course overview
The consequences of the use and abuse of controlled dangerous substances (CDS) are in the news on a daily basis. La. R.S. 40:978.3 requires CDS prescribers to obtain a one-time, three-hour continuing education program on best practices for prescribing CDSs, drug diversion prevention and appropriate treatment for addiction prior to relicensure in 2019. New CDS prescribers will be required to provide evidence of this education prior to licensure from the Board of Pharmacy. This course includes separate sections on each of these topics to meet the Louisiana requirements.
