Insuring Funeral Homes
Tracking # 20-631661
Course overview
Funeral homes are small, medium, or large businesses that offer important, necessary, and unique services. Most of a funeral home’s insurance needs are essentially the same as those of other businesses; however, some exposures take on special significance and benefit from the special attention, modified coverage details, or higher-than-usual limits. Other exposures are truly unique and require equally unique insurance coverage. The course examines the risks associated with funeral home operations and explains the various ways of insuring them. Common, modified, and unique insurance forms are discussed, with emphasis on coverage modifications and unique coverages specifically designed for those in the death businesses. Detailed attention is given to the Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO), funeral homes program, because the several endorsements available in that program incorporate the specialized coverage features that are most important to funeral homes.
